IucA and IucC catalyse discrete steps in biosynthesis of the siderophore aerobactin from N epsilon-acetyl-N epsilon-hydroxylysine and citrate [1]. This family represents the N-terminal region. The C-terminal region appears to be related to iron transporter proteins.
