This family of proteins includes Protein arginine N-methyltransferase SFM1 from Saccharomyces cerevisiae and similar proteins from fungi and archaea. Sfm1 is a S-adenosyl-L-methionine-dependent protein- arginine N-methyltransferase that monomethylates ribosomal protein S3 (RPS3) at 'Arg-146' [2].
