| PF05215 | Spiralin domain | domain |
This entry represents a repeated domain found in Spiralin proteins found in spiroplasma bacteria. Spiroplasmas are helically shaped pathogenic bacteria related to the mycoplasmas. The surface of spiroplasma bacteria is crowded with the membrane-anchored lipoprotein spiralin whose structure and function are unknown although its cellular function is thought to be a structural and mechanical one rather than a catalytic one [1].
