This family consists of several ICEA proteins from Helicobacter pylori. Helicobacter pylori infection causes gastritis and peptic ulcer disease, and is classified as a definite carcinogen of gastric cancer. ICEA1 is speculated to be associated with peptic ulcer disease [1].
