These peptidases are found in Archaea and Bacteria. The example in Lactococcus lactis, PepA, aids growth on milk [1]. Pyrococcus horikoshii contain a thermostable de-blocking aminopeptidase member of this family used commercially for N-terminal protein sequencing [2].
