Peroxisomes play diverse roles in the cell, compartmentalising many activities related to lipid metabolism and functioning in the decomposition of toxic hydrogen peroxide. Sequence similarity was identified between two hypothetical proteins and the peroxin integral membrane protein Pex24p [1].
