This family represents a conserved region approximately 260 residues long within a number of hypothetical proteins of unknown function that seem to be specific to C. elegans. Note that this family contains a number of conserved cysteine and histidine residues.This family corresponds to the Mirage group of putative transposases and family members are relatively close homologs of Transposase_21 (Pfam:PF02992) proteins (1).
