| PF07492 | Neutral trehalase Ca2+ binding domain | domain |
Neutral trehalases mobilise trehalose accumulated by fungal cells as a protective and storage carbohydrate. This family represents a calcium-binding domain similar to EF hand. Residues 97 and 108 in Swiss:O42893 have been implicated in this interaction. It is thought that this domain may provide a general mechanism for regulating neutral trehalase activity in yeasts and filamentous fungi [1].
