The sequences found in this family are similar to the BA14K proteins expressed by Brucella abortus (Swiss:Q44701) and by Brucella suis (Swiss:Q8FVU0). BA14K was found to be strongly immunoreactive; it induces both humoral and cellular responses in hosts throughout the infective process [1].
