This family consists of the cuticle proteins from the Cancer pagurus and the Homarus americanus. These proteins are isolated from the calcified regions of the crustacean and they contain two copies of an 18 residue sequence motif, which thus far has been found only in crustacean calcified exoskeletons [1].
