| PF08180 | B melanoma antigen family | family |
This family consists of the B melanoma antigen (BAGE) peptides. The BAGE gene encodes a human tumour antigen that is recognised by a cytolytic T lymphocyte. BAGE genes are expressed in melanomas, bladder and lung carcinomas and in a few tumours of other histological types [1].
1: New BAGE (B melanoma antigen) genes mapping to the juxtacentromeric regions of human chromosomes 13 and 21 have a cancer/testis expression profile. Ruault M, van der Bruggen P, Brun ME, Boyle S, Roizes G, De Sario A; Eur J Hum Genet 2002;10:833-840. PMID:12461691
