The family represents the N-terminal region of RXT2-like proteins. In S. cerevisiae, RXT2 has been demonstrated to be involved in conjugation with cellular fusion (mating) and invasive growth [1]. A high throughput localisation study has localised RXT2 to the nucleus [2].
