Methanothermobacter thermautotrophicus is a methanogenic Gram-positive microorganism with a cell wall consisting of pseudomurein. This repeat specifically binds to pseudomurein. This repeat is found at the N terminus of PeiW and PeiP which are pseudomurein binding phage proteins.
