The function of this protein is unknown. It is always found as part of a two-gene operon with IPR013416, a protein that appears to span the membrane seven times. It has so far been found in the bacteria Nostoc sp. PCC 7120, Agrobacterium tumefaciens, Rhizobium meliloti, and Gloeobacter violaceus.
