| PF09730 | Microtubule-associated protein Bicaudal-D | coiled_coil |
BicD proteins consist of three coiled-coiled domains and are involved in dynein-mediated minus end-directed transport from the Golgi apparatus to the endoplasmic reticulum (ER). For full functioning they bind with GSK-3beta Pfam:PF05350 to maintain the anchoring of microtubules to the centromere. It appears that amino-acid residues 437-617 of BicD and the kinase activity of GSK-3 are necessary for the formation of a complex between BicD and GSK-3beta in intact cells [1].
