| PF10347 | Fmp27/BLTP2/Hobbit, GFWDK motif-containg RBG unit | repeat |
This entry includes Hobbit protein from Drosophila melanogaster and its homologues such as Bridge-like lipid transfer protein family 2 member ((BLTP2/KIAA0100) from human and FMP27 from yeast, referred to as Hob proteins [1-3]. They are localised to endoplasmic reticulum-plasma membrane (ER-PM) contact sites described as conserved lipid-binding proteins. They have a long hydrophobic groove and can mediate bulk transport of lipid between organelles. This entry also includes maize protein APT1 and Arabidopsis homologues SABRE and KIP [2]. Members of this entry belong to the RBG superfamily which all share the same structure consisting of multiple repeating modules consisting of five beta-sheets followed by a loop. This entry represents a RBG module with a conserved GFWDK sequence motif.
