PF11544 Spindle pole body component Spc42p coiled_coil

Spc42p is a 42-kD component of the S.cerevisiae spindle body that localises to the electron dense central region of the SPB [1].Spc42p is a phosphoprotein which forms a polymeric layer at the periphery of the SPB central plaque. This functions during SPB duplication and also facilitates the attachment of the SPB to the nuclear membrane [1].
