| PF11591 | Ferredoxin chloroplastic transit peptide | family |
The structure of chloroplast ferredoxin in water is unstructured however in a 30:70 molar-ratio mixture of 2,2,2-trifluoroethanol, residues 3 to 13 form an alpha-helix. The rest of the peptide remains unstructured [1]. This family is the N-terminal of the [2Fe-2S) ferredoxin from C.reinhardtii. This protein catalyses the final reaction in a pathway which allows the production of H(2) from water in the chloroplast [2].
