This family of proteins is found in eukaryotes. Proteins in this family are typically between 77 and 1130 amino acids in length. The family is found in association with Pfam:PF00041. CD45 plays a critical role in T-cell receptor (TCR)-mediated signaling. CD45 interacts with SKAP55 which is a transcriptional activator of IL-2.
