This family includes the human protein CCDC144C and the ankyrin repeat domain-containing protein 26-like 1 found in eukaryotes. Its function remains unknown, however, it is known to contain a coiled-coil domain which corresponds to this region. The ankyrin repeat which features in this protein is a common amino acid motif.
