The function of this family of transmembrane proteins, TMEM 156, has not, as yet, been determined. Members of this family are as yet uncharacterised. This family of proteins are found in eukaryotes. Proteins in this family are approximately 310 amino acids in length. In humans, the gene encoding this protein is located in the chromosomal position, 4p14.
