| PF15458 | Nineteen complex-related protein 2 | family |
Family members include the NTR2 or Nineteen complex-related protein 2 found in fungus and plants. NTR2 proteins form a complex with the DExD/H-box RNA helicase Prp43. Along with NTR1 it is an accessory factor of Prp43 in catalysing spliceosome disassembly. Disassembly of the spliceosome after completion of the splicing reaction is necessary for recycling of splicing factors to promote efficient splicing [1]. NTR2 and NTR1 associate with a post-splicing complex containing the excised intron and the spliceosomal U2, U5, and U6 snRNAs, that supports a link with a late stage in the pre-mRNA splicing process [2].
