| PF16155 | Domain of unknown function (DUF4863) | family |
This family consists of uncharacterised proteins around 150 residues in length and is mainly found in various delta- proteobacteria, but also several fungal species. Distant homology analysis suggest proteins from this family have a cupin-like fold and may be related to a group of lyases involved in the metabolism of benzoate. Few proteins from this family are annotated as p-hydroxylaminobenzoate lyases, NbaB, and this proposed function matches well their phylogenetic distribution, but there seems to be no direct experimental verification of this function, therefore at this point we call it a DUF.
