| PF16565 | Phospholipase D-like domain at C-terminus of MIT | domain |
MIT_C is the C-terminal domain of MIT-containing proteins, Pfam:PF04212. It contains an unanticipated phospholipase d fold (PLD fold) that binds avidly to phosphoinositide-containing membranes [1]. It is conserved in eukaryotes, though not fungi and plants, and some bacteria.
1: ESCRT-III binding protein MITD1 is involved in cytokinesis and has an unanticipated PLD fold that binds membranes. Hadders MA, Agromayor M, Obita T, Perisic O, Caballe A, Kloc M, Lamers MH, Williams RL, Martin-Serrano J; Proc Natl Acad Sci U S A. 2012;109:17424-17429. PMID:23045692
