Mac_assoc is a region of natively unstructured residues on fungal maltose acetyltransferase proteins. It lies just upstream of the Mac, Pfam:PF12464, domain linking it with the upstream Zn_clus, Pfam:PF00172, the Zn(2)-Cys(6) binuclear cluster. the function of this region is not known.
