This is a middle domain of lipins. Overall the enzyme acts as a magnesium-dependent phosphatidate phosphatase enzyme that catalyses the conversion of phosphatidic acid to diacylglycerol during triglyceride, phosphatidylcholine and phosphatidylethanolamine biosynthesis. EC:5.2.1.8.
