CSG2 is an integral membrane protein with up to 10 transmembrane segments that, when over-expressed, localises to the endoplasmic reticulum [1,2]. CSG2 is a family of fungal transmembrane proteins that regulate mannosyl phosphorylinositol ceramide synthase and are thereby implicated in calcium homoeostasis in the cell [3].
