| PF21461 | Hyaluronate lyase, N-terminal beta-sheet domain | domain |
Hyaluronate lyase degrades hyaluronan and certain chondroitin sulfates at beta-1,4 glycosidic linkages and constitutes a virulence factor of Streptococcus agalactiae [1]. It consists of three structural domains, an N-terminal beta-sheet domain (also referred as to beta1), a middle catalytic alpha-helical domain (Pfam:PF08124) and a C-terminal beta-sheet domain (beta2, Pfam:PF02278) [1]. This entry represents the N-terminal beta-sheet domain which adopts a Ig-like fold and may serve as a connection of the alpha-domain with another structural domain [1].
