Beclin 1 is a Bcl-2-interacting coiled-coil protein with autophagy and tumor suppressor function. It is predominantly located in the cytoplasm, but more nuclear in certain cancer cells. Beclin 1 has a NES signal and when mutated, affects its autophage function
