Comments
Php4 is a subunit of the CCAAT-binding protein complex, which also includes Php2,Php3, and Php5. The CCAAT-binding complex is one of the two iron-regulated proteins that control iron homostatis in S. pombe. Mercier et al. showed that Php4 accumulates into the nucleus in response to low levels of iron and relocalizes to the cytoplasm when iron is repleted.

Accurate identification of NESs is difficult because many sequences in the genome match the NES consensus. Therefore, some published NESs may be mistakenly identified. Please help us improve the accuracy of NESdb by providing either a positive or negative flag for the NES in this entry. Supporting comments are required to process the flag.
