Comments
Known to relocalize from the cell soma to the nucleus, CPEB4 is an RNA-binding protein in neurons the promotes polyadenylation and translation upon synaptic stimulus. A conserved nuclear export sequence is purported to be between amino acids 385-400. Crystal structure of NES peptide (residues 380-393) bound to CRM1 revealed that CPEB4 NES is a reverse NES that binds in opposite polypeptide direction.

User Input
Accurate identification of NESs is difficult because many sequences in the genome match the NES consensus. Therefore, some published NESs may be mistakenly identified. Please help us improve the accuracy of NESdb by providing either a positive or negative flag for the NES in this entry. Supporting comments are required to process the flag.
