Comments
MK2is activated by p38 MAPK and has been shown to phosphorylate small heat shock protein Hsp25/27, as well as the nuclear transcription factor CREB. MK2 is detected in both the nucleus and the cytoplasm. A conservative NLS has been identified in MK2. Under stress, MK2 translocates from the nucleus to the cytoplasm, induced by the phosphorylation of T317.

User Input
Accurate identification of NESs is difficult because many sequences in the genome match the NES consensus. Therefore, some published NESs may be mistakenly identified. Please help us improve the accuracy of NESdb by providing either a positive or negative flag for the NES in this entry. Supporting comments are required to process the flag.
