Zo-2 contains four NESs. Each has been shown to export reporter proteins in LMB sensitive manner. Single mutation at each NES can induce a strong nuclear accumulation of full-length ZO-2. Apparently, phosphorylation of Ser369 is required for NES at 361-370 to be functional.
