Comments
LANA2 is able to inactivate the apoptosis and transcriptional transactivation mediated by the tumor suppressor p53. LANA2 contains a functional NES at the C-terminus that is essential for the shuttling ability of LANA2. Just downstream from the NES, there is a Akt phosphorylation site. Phosphorylation affects both subcellular localization and function of LANA2. Mutation of phosphorylation site leads to increase in cytoplasmic localization.

User Input
Accurate identification of NESs is difficult because many sequences in the genome match the NES consensus. Therefore, some published NESs may be mistakenly identified. Please help us improve the accuracy of NESdb by providing either a positive or negative flag for the NES in this entry. Supporting comments are required to process the flag.
