Comments
PAK4 is a memeber of the p21-activated serine/threonine kinases closely related to the progression and metastasis of cancer. PAK4 interacts with β-catenin and phosphorylates Ser675 of β-catenin. β-catenin Ser675 phosphorylation by PAK4 promotes its transcription activity and inhibits its degradation. Li et al. showed that PAK4 is a nucleocytoplasmic shuttling protein with three NESs. Among them, the N-terminal NES plays a decisive role in its export activity. The import of PAK4 depends on importin α5.

User Input
Accurate identification of NESs is difficult because many sequences in the genome match the NES consensus. Therefore, some published NESs may be mistakenly identified. Please help us improve the accuracy of NESdb by providing either a positive or negative flag for the NES in this entry. Supporting comments are required to process the flag.
