Comments

NES1 (aa 12-21, located in the predicted helix N1 region)- deficiency does not overwrite the LMB-sensitivity. NES2 (aa 31-40) identified by Huang et. al. is located in the predicted helix N2 region of NEP protein. Deletion of either NES1 or NES2 does not eliminate NEP interaction with CRM1 in a mammalian two-hybrid assay. However simultaneous deletion of both NESes ceased the CRM1 interaction in the same assay.
