Comments
ORF3 of PCV2 is a non-structural protein thought to have a role in modulating host cell signaling and possibly apoptosis. Gu et al. found that ORF3 is initially cytoplasmic after infection and accumulated in the nucleus over time. GFP-fusion of residue 1-35 is predominantly cytoplasmic and mutations of all 6 hydrophobic residues in the putative NES caused nuclear accumulation. No LMB sensitivity has been demonstrated.

User Input
Accurate identification of NESs is difficult because many sequences in the genome match the NES consensus.
Therefore, some published NESs may be mistakenly identified. Please help us improve the accuracy of NESdb
by providing either a positive or negative flag for the NES in this entry. Supporting comments are required to process the flag.
