Comments
CASZ1 is a zinc-finger transcription factor proposed to have tumor suppressor activity in neuroblastoma. Liu et al. mapped NLSs and a NES to the N-terminus of CASZ1. Deletion analysis revealed that 168-186 contains a putative NES and a consensus match can be found in 182-191. However, none of the hydrophobic side chains is leucine - one leucine is found in 174 , N-terminal of the proposed NES. Both LMB treatment and mutation to hydrophobic residues caused nuclear accumulation in truncation-fusion constructs.

User Input
Accurate identification of NESs is difficult because many sequences in the genome match the NES consensus.
Therefore, some published NESs may be mistakenly identified. Please help us improve the accuracy of NESdb
by providing either a positive or negative flag for the NES in this entry. Supporting comments are required to process the flag.
