Comments
pUL37 is a tegument protein essential for cytoplasmic envelopment during viral egress. Funk et al. found this protein to have nuclear export activity using Nuclear EXport Trapped by RAPamycin (NEX-TRAP), protein tested in this study contains a 11-residue deletion in the N-terminus. However, the NES is shown to be part of an alpha-helical domain in the available PDB structure and doesn't appear to be accessible unless the protein unfolds.
