Drb1/RBM45 is a poly(C) RNA-binding protein. Mashiko et al. demonstrated that Drb1 is a shuttling protein through heterokaryon assay. Deletion analysis revealed a presence of putative NES in 302-403, the linker region between RRM2 and RRM3, and double leucine mutation caused nuclear accumulation. There is a non-tranditional NES consensus match if you consider M335 and M339. However, no clear CRM1 dependency have been demonstrated. Note that numbering on uniprot entry is off by two with the paper (paper numbering follows isoform 3). Accurate identification of NESs is difficult because many sequences in the genome match the NES consensus. Therefore, some published NESs may be mistakenly identified. Please help us improve the accuracy of NESdb by providing either a positive or negative flag for the NES in this entry. Supporting comments are required to process the flag.
