Comments
Corum et al. showed that myc-tagged PGC-1α is accumulated in nucleus of HUVECs upon LMB treatment. Atk3 knockdown had no apparent effect on modifications of PGC-1α and caused CRM1 overexpression instead and subsequent cytoplasmic shift in PGC-1α localization. Binding of PGC-1α and CRM1 is illustrated by co-immunoprecipitation. 2 putatives NESs were identified using NES Finder and mutations to either causes nuclear accumulation of GFP-PGC-1α. The first NES is the same as the one mapped in mouse PGC-1α, which can be found in entry #160. PPARG is also found modulate CRM1 stability and PGC-1α localization via Akt3, consistent with previous study (Galbraith et al.). User Input
Accurate identification of NESs is difficult because many sequences in the genome match the NES consensus. Therefore, some published NESs may be mistakenly identified. Please help us improve the accuracy of NESdb by providing either a positive or negative flag for the NES in this entry. Supporting comments are required to process the flag.
