Comments
Cutf1 is a key copper-regulatory transcription factor in S. pombe to maintain normal physiological levels of copper in cells. When copper level is low, Cuf1 binds to the copper-signaling elements and induces the expression of genes encoding components of the copper transport pathway. Under conditions of copper excess, Cuf1 is exported from the nucleus and transcription is repressed.

Accurate identification of NESs is difficult because many sequences in the genome match the NES consensus. Therefore, some published NESs may be mistakenly identified. Please help us improve the accuracy of NESdb by providing either a positive or negative flag for the NES in this entry. Supporting comments are required to process the flag.
