Comments
mDia is an effector of Rho and catalyzes actin nucleation and polyerization to produce straight actin filaments. It has three isoforms. mDia2 has both NLS and NES and shuttles between the nucleus and the cytoplasm. Crystal structure of NES peptide bound to CRM1 revealed that mDia2 NES is a class 3 NES which uses an entire helix to bind CRM1 and leaves the P4 hydrophobic pocket empty as the NES is in its C-terminus.
