MAP2, MAP4 and Tau, as well as other animal homologs.
MAP4 is present in many tissues but is usually absent

of this family have the ability to bind to and stabilise
microtubules. As a result, they are involved in neuronal
migration, supporting dendrite elongation, and
regulating microtubules during mitotic metaphase. Note
that Tau is involved in neurofibrillary tangle formation
in Alzheimer's disease and some other dementias. This
family features a C-terminal microtubule binding repeat
that contains a conserved KXGS motif.
