The laminin globular (G) domain can be found in one to several copies in various laminin family members, which includes a large number of extracellular proteins. Proteins of the pentaxin family are involved in acute immunological responses []. Pentaxin proteins expressed in the nervous system are neural pentaxin I (NPI) and II (NPII) []. NPI and NPII are homologous and can exist within one species.
