>gnl|CDD|215646 pfam00001, 7tm_1, 7 transmembrane receptor (rhodopsin family).
This family contains, amongst other G-protein-coupled
receptors (GCPRs), members of the opsin family, which
have been considered to be typical members of the
rhodopsin superfamily. They share several motifs, mainly
the seven transmembrane helices, GCPRs of the rhodopsin
superfamily. All opsins bind a chromophore, such as
11-cis-retinal. The function of most opsins other than
the photoisomerases is split into two steps: light
absorption and G-protein activation. Photoisomerases, on
the other hand, are not coupled to G-proteins - they are
thought to generate and supply the chromophore that is
used by visual opsins.

compartmentalising many activities related to lipid
metabolism and functioning in the decomposition of toxic
hydrogen peroxide. Sequence similarity was identified
between two hypothetical proteins and the peroxin
integral membrane protein Pex24p.

>gnl|CDD|99717 cd06395, PB1_Map2k5, PB1 domain is essential part of the
mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase 5 (Map2k5,
alias MEK5) one of the key member of the signaling
kinases cascade which involved in angiogenesis and
early cardiovascular development. The PB1 domain of
Map2k5 interacts with the PB1 domain of another members
of kinase cascade MEKK2 (or MEKK3). A canonical
PB1-PB1 interaction, involving heterodimerization of
two PB1 domain, is required for the formation of
macromolecular signaling complexes ensuring specificity
and fidelity during cellular signaling. The interaction
between two PB1 domain depends on the type of PB1.
There are three types of PB1 domains: type I which
contains an OPCA motif, acidic aminoacid cluster, type
II which contains a basic cluster, and type I/II which
contains both an OPCA motif and a basic cluster. The
Map2k5 protein contains a type I PB1 domain.

branches: the Hint branch, which consists of adenosine
5' -monophosphoramide hydrolases, the Fhit branch, that
consists of diadenosine polyphosphate hydrolases, and
the GalT branch consisting of specific nucloside
monophosphate transferases. Fhit plays a very important
role in the development of tumours. Infact, Fhit
deletions are among the earliest and most frequent
genetic alterations in the development of tumours.
