Zinc-binding motifs are stable structures, and they rarely undergo conformational changes upon binding their target. This entry represents a zinc finger motif found in the non-structural 5a protein (NS5a) in Hepatitis C virus. The molecular function of NS5a is uncertain, but it is phosphorylated when expressed in mammalian cells.
