>gnl|CDD|216424 pfam01302, CAP_GLY, CAP-Gly domain. Cytoskeleton-associated
proteins (CAPs) are involved in the organisation of
microtubules and transportation of vesicles and
organelles along the cytoskeletal network. A conserved
motif, CAP-Gly, has been identified in a number of
CAPs, including CLIP-170 and dynactins. The crystal
structure of Caenorhabditis elegans F53F4.3 protein
CAP-Gly domain was recently solved. The domain contains
three beta-strands. The most conserved sequence, GKNDG,
is located in two consecutive sharp turns on the
surface, forming the entrance to a groove.

>gnl|CDD|173762 cd08222, STKc_Nek11, Catalytic domain of the Protein
Serine/Threonine Kinase, Never In Mitosis gene A-related
kinase 11. Serine/Threonine Kinases (STKs), Never In
           Mitosis gene A (NIMA)-related kinase 11 (Nek11)
subfamily, catalytic (c) domain. STKs catalyze the
transfer of the gamma-phosphoryl group from ATP to
serine/threonine residues on protein substrates. The
Nek11 subfamily is one of a family of 11 different Neks
(Nek1-11) that are involved in cell cycle control. The
Nek family is part of a larger superfamily that includes
the catalytic domains of other protein STKs, protein
           tyrosine kinases, RIO kinases, aminoglycoside
           phosphotransferase, choline kinase, and phosphoinositide
3-kinase. Nek11 is involved, through direct
phosphorylation, in regulating the degradation of Cdc25A
(Cell Division Cycle 25 homolog A), which plays a role
in cell cycle progression and in activating cyclin
dependent kinases. Nek11 is activated by CHK1
(CHeckpoint Kinase 1) and may be involved in the G2/M
checkpoint. Nek11 may also play a role in the S-phase
checkpoint as well as in DNA replication and genotoxic
           stress responses.

>gnl|CDD|239312 cd03014, PRX_Atyp2cys, Peroxiredoxin (PRX) family, Atypical 2-cys
PRX subfamily; composed of PRXs containing peroxidatic
and resolving cysteines, similar to the homodimeric
thiol specific antioxidant (TSA) protein also known as
TRX-dependent thiol peroxidase (Tpx). Tpx is a
bacterial periplasmic peroxidase which differs from
other PRXs in that it shows substrate specificity
toward alkyl hydroperoxides over hydrogen peroxide. As
with all other PRXs, the peroxidatic cysteine
(N-terminal) of Tpx is oxidized into a sulfenic acid
intermediate upon reaction with peroxides. Tpx is able
to resolve this intermediate by forming an
intramolecular disulfide bond with a conserved
C-terminal cysteine (the resolving cysteine), which can
then be reduced by thioredoxin. This differs from the
typical 2-cys PRX which resolves the oxidized cysteine
by forming an intermolecular disulfide bond with the
resolving cysteine from the other subunit of the
homodimer. Atypical 2-cys PRX homodimers have a
loop-based interface (A-type for alternate), in
contrast with the B-type interface of typical 2-cys and
          1-cys PRXs.
