In Pseudomonas aeruginosa, the synthesis of mono-rhamnolipids is catalyzed by rhamnosyltransferase 1, and proceeds by a glycosyltransfer reaction catalyzed by rhamnosyltransferase 2 to yield di-rhamnolipids . .
