However, members of this family are separable in a neighbour-joining tree constructed from a multiple sequence alignment and are found only in mesophiles that lack the companion mannosyl-3-phosphoglycerate synthase (IPR012812 from INTERPRO). Members of this family are likely to act on a compound related to yet distinct from mannosyl-3-phosphoglycerate.; GO: 0050531 mannosyl-3-phosphoglycerate phosphatase activity, 0005737 cytoplasm.
